# Pricing tools: Price Simulator and Session Timeline

Two operator tools for pricing transparency are now generally available. Simulate a session against a tariff before it happens to check the price is right, and after a charge, see exactly how the cost was built up, period by period.

## What changed

### Added
- Price Simulator: from a station's Actions, enter session inputs (start time, energy, charging and idle duration, and optionally a token) and get a cost breakdown by component without running a real session. Useful for checking time-of-use tariffs, access-group pricing, and tariffs dated for the future.
- Session Timeline: from any session, a breakdown into periods where a single price applied, down to the energy and time intervals of each meter value. Useful for explaining a bill or auditing how dynamic pricing was applied through a charge.

## Rollout

Generally available to operators. The Session Timeline is on by default; the Price Simulator is available on a station that has a tariff or charging policy configured.
